Terms of Service

The short version: Use TROVE responsibly, don't try to abuse or reverse-engineer it, and remember the AI-generated insights are suggestions — not financial advice. We provide the service as-is and aren't liable for decisions you make using it.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account or signing in to TROVE ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

TROVE lets you upload bank statements in Excel format. The Service parses them in memory, sends the transaction data to AI for categorization and insight generation, and returns an interactive dashboard to your browser. Your bank statement contents are not stored on our servers; only your account profile (name, email, timestamps) is persisted. See the Privacy Policy for details.

3. Your Account

You must be at least 18 years old to use TROVE.
You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You're responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide a valid email address. You may not impersonate any other person.
You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Upload files that don't belong to you or that you don't have permission to share with us.
Upload malicious files (malware, zip bombs, files crafted to exploit parser vulnerabilities, etc.).
Attempt to bypass authentication, rate limits, or any other security control.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying source code or AI prompts.
Use the Service to process data for any unlawful purpose.
Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute access to the Service without our written permission.
Use automated tools to scrape, mass-create accounts, or abuse the upload/insight endpoints.

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

5. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

TROVE's transaction categorizations, merchant identifications, and "insights" are generated by large language models. These outputs may be incorrect, incomplete, or misleading.

Insights generated by the Service are for informational purposes only. They do not constitute financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice. Always verify computations and consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.

6. Intellectual Property

TROVE, including its source code, design, UI elements, the "TROVE" name, and the logo, is the intellectual property of Pranay Chaudhary. All rights are reserved. You receive a limited, non-transferable, revocable right to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use only.

You retain ownership of the bank statement data you upload. By using the Service, you grant us a temporary licence to process that data in memory for the purpose of generating your dashboard and insights, after which it is discarded.

7. No Warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the AI outputs will be accurate or complete.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Pranay Chaudhary be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or opportunity, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total cumulative liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to ₹100 (Indian Rupees), or the total amount you have paid us in the preceding twelve months, whichever is greater. Currently, TROVE is offered free of charge.

9. Service Changes and Termination

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be communicated by email to active users at least 14 days before they take effect.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
